Surface tension and Tionox

Traditional defoamer:
Defoaming due to incompatibility of hydrophobic materials that can attract surfactants to the bubbles to break foam.

Tionox performance:
Tionox sticks to the surface of the bubbles in order to change the surface tension of the bubble and consequently completely knock down the foam. Also an anti-foaming effect for a long time.
Performance characteristics
Fast migration, which leads to a low dynamic surface tension
Ability to wet contaminated substrates
No micelle formation
Thermal and chemical stability over a wide range of conditions
Prevents surface defect problems such as fish eyes, crawling and cratering on low energy substrates

Surface tension and wetting
For aqueous systems:
The surface area will increase rapidly in high speed processing.
The surface energy increases as the concentration of the surfactant decreases
Wetting will be difficult to meet the requirement under such situations
and causes many problems such as shrinkage, biological peeling
Recoating comparison with different additives
Oil-based additives stick to the surface of the coating, resulting in an inhomogeneous
Surface tension led. It is difficult to recoat.Silicon-based additives dry and fix the coating surface with a methyl molecule film.
The surface tension of such a methyl film is very low (less than 30 N / M). It is difficult
to paint over.Fluorine-containing additives remain on the surface with fluorinated alkyl molecular film. Have such foils
also a very low surface tension (less than 30 N / M). Recoating is difficult.Tionox additives based on acetylenic diols There is a molecular film with C6H12, though
the coatings have dried. The surface tension of such films is close to
Surface tension of the various resins (> 35 N / M). So no effect on recoating.
