Spray agglomeration

Granulation / agglomeration - ready to use

Increase the performance of your powder materials by converting them into easily processable granulates or agglomerates with customized properties. These are easier to transport and easier to dose than powders or liquids. And, depending on the application, they offer additional properties to facilitate further processing or to add value to the product.

Regardless of whether the focus is on bulk density, solubility, compressibility or dosability or whether additional functions such as controlled release are required - almost everything is possible with our processes. Most of the applications of refined granulates or pellets can be found in the chemical industry, the food industry and in the pet food sector. But we have also developed special solutions for many other industries. Individual applications - as diverse as our customers.

Whether spray granulation or spray agglomeration - with more than 60 years of experience, our technology partner Glatt has innovative technologies and the know-how for your individual requirements. Depending on the starting substance, area of application and target parameters to be defined accordingly, different methods are available.

Spray granulation
In spray granulation, liquids (solutions, suspensions, melts) are sprayed into the fluidized bed. The liquid evaporates. The solid forms small particles. These are wetted with further liquid and grow layer by layer.

Spray agglomeration
In comparison to this, very small particles are moved in the fluidized bed during agglomeration, sprayed with binder liquid and combine to form larger agglomerates, which due to their coarse structure and large surface area have excellent solubility - including instant properties.
